Lise is International Coordinator at ICROFS and Assistant to the International Board since October 2008. Her responsibilities relate to international activities outside Europe as well as provision of support to the Board and related administrative tasks.
Tasks include
development of a strategy for ICROFS' international activities as well as participation in its implementation
establishment of collaboration with relevant international organizations and partners outside Europe and contact to potential donors and development programmes
preparation of trans-national research activities and project applications where ICROFS will play an active role
organisational and administrative support to international organic and agro-ecological research projects
development of cooperation with research organizations, stakeholders and donors regarding identification of international organic research needs. Another important task is to prepare and participate in the implementation of a strategy for dissemination of knowledge from via ICROFS to the developing countries.
Previous professional experience
Lise has previously been employed as International Project Adviser at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (DJF) of the University of Aarhus with focus on the EU's Framework Programmes for research. In addition she has more than 10 year of professional experience from Africa, Asia and Europe within the fields of farming systems analysis, participatory natural resource management, environmental impact assessments and management systems development. She has furthermore extensive experience in project administration and monitoring; and project development, formulation and evaluation.
Educational background
Lise is a trained agronomist and besides her M.Sc. in Agriculture from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen also holds a M.Sc. in Applied Environmental Economics from Wye College, University of London and a B.Sc. in International Business Administration from the Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus.
Organic Eprints
Since 2002, the Centre has developed and open-access archive for research papers in organic agriculture, Organic Eprints. And in 2003, the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture, FiBL, joined the project as an international partner. Organic Eprints has more than 4,000 visits a day (www.orgprints.org).
European cooperation
ICROFS coordinates European trans-national research concerned with organic food and farming systems under the headline of Core Organic. Moreover, ICROFS is actively involved in a European research project on improving the organic certification system
