Dissemination of research results is a central activity in ICROFS. Communication and dissemination is achieved mainly through web-based media, such as public homepages, video presentations, platforms for corporate work, web portals, and newsletters. Presently, there are more than 4,500 subscribers to the newsletters issued by ICROFS.
As ICROFS' information officer, I participate in the secretariat's communication and science disseminaton work. This includes mediating results from trans-national and national organic research, mediated in both English and Danish, and developing ICROFS' information strategy and functionality of the centre's numerous web-ressourcer, e.g. web sites, newletters and other publications. In addition, I assist the programme committee and other odd jobs like arranging and attending congresses.
Tasks include
Science/research communication
Dissemination of results from research in organic farming
Communication strategy development
Cooperation on research and project dissemination
Expanding organic research communication to international stakeholders
Work package management of dissemination tasks in the CERTCOST project
Coordinating, mastering and developing websites (e.g. www.soar.dk and www.coreorganic2.org)
Producing newsletters (gathering content, writing articles/news, layout set-up of ICROFS news, ICROFS nyt and CERTCOST news)
Preparing and attending congresses (such as BioFach, World ORganic Congress, and Økologikongressen)
Secretary & case work for the Danish Programme Committee
Previous professional experience
I have been employed as "creative idea developer &innovation- and inventions consultant" at the Danish Technological Institute, PhD scholar at the Department of Science Studies, Universities of Aarhus and Chicago, post.doc in university pedagogy and science communication for the Natural Sciences Faculty, University of Aarhus, physics teacher in Viborg and self-employed free-lance communication consultant.
Educational background
I am trained as a physicist from the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, I have a PhD in science studies, University of Aarhus. As supplementary training, I have a journalism diploma from the Danish School of Media and Journalism, 2007-2008. I took up my office with ICROFS in June 2008. |
