Book: Organic agriculture for sustainable livelihoods
This book edited by Niels Halberg and Adrian Muller provides a timely analysis and assessment of the potential of organic agriculture (OA) for rural development and the improvement of livelihoods. It focuses on smallholders in developing countries and in countries of economic transition, but there is also coverage of and comparisons with developed countries. It covers market-oriented approaches and challenges for OA as part of high value chains and as an agro-ecologically based development for improving food security. It demonstrates the often unrecognised roles that organic farming can play in climate change, food security and sovereignty, carbon sequestration, cost internalisations, ecosystems services, human health andthe restoration of degraded landscapes. Books and reports prior to 2009
The former DARCOF has issued a series of DARCOF-reports, primary written for an international audience of researchers, in and outside Denmark.
In Danish, a series of research reports has been published, the so-called FØJO-rapporter, giving perspectives and summarizing research in national staging within various fields of organic agriculture and food systems.
A series of internal reports (interne rapporter) has also been issues in Danish, covering random events such as theme meetings and workshops.
Regularly, books have been published by ICROFS, summarizing and surveying research in the former staging of the national centre DARCOF.
