Strategic framework revised at the 2nd board meeting
The second meeting of the international board was held on 20th February 2009 on occasion of the organic world fair, BioFach2009, in Nuremberg, Germany.
At the board meeting, the board members had the honor of meeting the Danish Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Eva Kjer Hansen. She participated in the first part of the meeting.
The Minister explained the rationale for the Ministry’s support to ICROFS and thanked the board members for accepting their responsibilities.
The Board revisited the strategic framework and agreed on revising ICROFS' "Big Hairy Audacious Goal" (BHAG) to:
"The principles of organic agriculture have become a global reference for sustainability in agriculture and food systems due to evidence based on research and adaptive management."
The Board furthermore approved the format and content of the workplan of ICROFS which will be updated before each board meeting.
